OUR MISSION
To improve the lives of veterans, service members and their families, and our communities.
ABOUT US
Established in February 1966, the VFW 7764 Auxiliary initially convened at the Project Community House in Reidsville. However, since September 1971, our regular meetings have taken place at the VFW Post Home located at 120 VFW Rd., Reidsville, GA.
Membership in the VFW Auxiliary is contingent upon a blood or marriage relationship to a VFW Member. Consequently, our demographic closely aligns with that of the VFW, and we extend a warm welcome to individuals meeting this criterion.
Our primary objectives revolve around enhancing the well-being of veterans, service members, and their families within our community. Nationally, we boast a membership of 470,000 individuals across 3,500 Auxiliaries, dedicating countless volunteer hours and fundraising efforts to support charitable projects benefitting veterans, military personnel, and their families.
At the national level, we actively engage in assisting the VFW with legislative matters affecting veterans and their families. We contribute nearly a million volunteer hours to the VA medical system, conduct patriotic programs with thousands of students, and provide substantial scholarship funds for the nation's youth.
On a local scale, upon receiving requests or learning of individuals in need, we strive to offer assistance in various forms. This includes providing transportation to doctor appointments, making nursing home visits, maintaining lawns, and collaborating with the VFW to deliver and assemble wheelchair ramps.
In addition to joint fundraising efforts with the VFW, we also organize independent fundraisers and respond to singular events such as natural disasters and house fires, aiming to provide support and assistance where it's needed most.
