On January 19, 2023, 7 VFW 7764 Members loaded, delivered, and set up a wheelchair ramp for the Bacon Family in Bellville, GA. The gentleman in need of the ramp has cerebral palsy; his older brother made the request. Since the funding for this ramp came from Canoochee EMC we invited them to be present for a picture to accompany an article in the Georgia (EMC) magazine next month. On January 7, 2023, 7 VFW 7764 Members traveled to Swainsboro, GA to meet and have lunch with the family of the late Army Sgt. Cooke who took his own life on December 10th. After lunch and a safety brief with the Patriot’s Guard, we followed the 40 or so bikes to Garfield, GA for the funeral service at the New Beginnings In Christ Ministry.

On March 04, 2023, 17 VFW 7764 Members and 6 Auxiliary, co-hosted the Wounded Warrior Retreat Quail Hunt for 40 people (four of our Purple Heart recipients participated). VFW 7764 Members and Auxiliary were on site at 0500 putting ribs on the grill; after daylight we surveyed the hunting areas, released birds, set up the dining area and served breakfast. With the hunt underway, we provided guide and birddog services, as well as golf cart services for participants who didn’t have the physical stamina for all the walking. At noon, we fed everybody an excellent rib lunch.
